The Old Speckled Hen is the British appendage to Tir Nan Og. It’s a small, classy bar with a great selection of beers from the British Isles, including Boddington’s, Tennant’s and Old Speckled Hen- this one’s not on tap.
Bear in mind that this isn’t a cheap establishment; be prepared to spend a little (or a lot, depending on the beer) more money on your pints than you would at other Kingston bars.
The atmosphere here is great. It’s usually fairly calm and a little dark but the light reflects off of the well polished wood within and makes for an authentic British pub experience. There are tables, chairs and window seats dotted arount the pub’s perimeter.
If you like, you can easily migrate up into the Tir Nan Og, which is connected to the Old Speckled Hen and located just in behind. The Hen shares the same menu as Tir Nan Og, so you can still enjoy Blarney chips.
