The winter in Kingston is all about packing on the pounds as fast as possible in order to beat the impending chill to a pulp with your fat rolls. What better way to put a little meat on your bones than with a chocolate chip cookie a day? We’re on a mission to try all the chocolate chip cookie options that this town has to offer before the snow hits.
Pan Chancho: Chewy. Good chip to cookie ratio. Vanilla finish. Crisp edges, soft center. Flavourless and oily at times.
Coffee & Company: Flakey. Buttery. Small chocolate chips. Dough that melts in your mouth. Often makes a big mess as it falls apart. Always comes wrapped in saran wrap.
Starbucks: Delightfully gooey to the point where you wonder if they’ve been baked for very long at all. Large HUGE chocolate chunks. More chocolate than dough. Very heavy. They sell out quickly.
A&P Bakery: Borderline raw on a good day. Moderately chewy. Large chocolate chips. Not very chocolatey. Notes of palm oil. Warning: They are only sold in 2lb containers. Resist the urge to eat the whole box in one sitting.

I’d just like to clarify that no one makes a chocolate chip cookie as good as my mum. Got that? Glad we cleared things up.
Hello, I just came across your blog and I’m enjoying your posts
I live in Kingston too so I easily relate to what you have to say.
As for the squirrels, yeah in Kingston they tend to be a bit annoying for some reason. Other cities have adorable squirrels but I find that in Kingston they are too “hyperactive” and don’t look as cute.
I don’t like A&P’s bakery. It smells nice and looks nice but doesn’t taste as good
