Diva is an Aveda Concept Salon and Spa for both men and women. They offer a full range of spa and salon services, from a bang trim to a patchouli and geranium detoxifying exfoliation.
Diva recently moved from a smaller spa next door into their current digs on Princess Street. This facility is warm, inviting, and hip. There is a high level of ‘personality’ among the staff – they’ll always have an opinion, whether it be on your Opi polish or your bushy brows. That said, they are professionals and know when to shut up if you just want a little peace and quiet.
Students can take advantage of the annnual Back to School Special packages – for around $50 Diva offers a facial, massage, and manicure package. If you are upgrading to a wax, ask for Paula – she’ll leave you hairless and happy in seconds flat – and the experience is almost pleasant.
Spa packages are reasonably priced, and services are much less than what you would expect to pay in Toronto. In fact, for offering such high quality and a tranquil spa atmosphere, Diva is a flat out bargain. Additionally, there is a fire-side room where couples can have services done side by side.
If you are in need of a little pampering after work or to de-stress post exams, then look no further than Diva.

Diva?? I’ve always been a Vecchio’s man myself. Mmmm gotta love the hot shave.
Diva absolutely butchered my friends hair. My blonde friend brought in a picture of a dirty blonde girl with choclate brown highlights. She left with pitch black hair. Which makes it worse was the stylist still charged her and expected a tip. My friend was stuck with that disgusting hair for months. Also, even though its an Aveda salon, the stylists are definitely not as classy as the ones at James Brett and some are poorly groomed.

I’d like more details about Kingston Salons. For instance, where is the best place to get hair color given the expertise and training of the stylists? Where are the stylists senior chairs trained? It makes no difference if everyone is right out of St. Lawrence College and no one has trained at a Sassoon Academy, or Tony and Guy etc. I’ve been finding that in Kingston the top Salons are all about equal…and they are “fair” but, nothing is really that wow factor with any of them. Go anywhere except the top places and you are sure to be totally disappointed or worse.
These reviews are “good” but, they could be more comprehensive so that a person new to Kingston might know where the best colorists and stylists are. Perhaps reviewing the work of individuals rather than an entire salon?
So far in Kingston I’ve had some pretty good hair cuts and not such great luck with color. It’s a stab in the dark around here really. I think I’m going to start going to Toronto or have my hair done on visits to New York. This just isn’t “cutting it” here for me.
